The defender suffered an injury to his hand during the friendly match with CSKA Moscow
Fortunately it appears that the injury to Caneira is not serious. He went to hospital just to be on the safe side, where he underwent an x-ray, which showed that there were no breaks in his hand. Hopefully the experienced defender will soon be able to return to full training with the rest of the first team squad.
