Amid great scenes of happiness at the Sostoi stadium, Videoton finally won the Monicomp league division one, following the 3-1 win over Kaposvar. It was no more than Gyorgy Mezey and his Videoton squad have deserved, throughout a great season, both on and off the pitch. It is a season that began with the Europa League campaign, and now ends with Champions league football to look forward to in the summer. The players celebrated out on the pitch following the final whistle, and then headed back into the dressing room for more celebrations. The fans, who turned out in good numbers, reacted in great happiness, in what has been a very long wait for the first domestic league success. The Videoton management, coaching staff and players then headed to the town hall, where further celebrations began. The supporters, who have backed the team throughout the campaign sang and danced the evening away, in what is hoped is just the start of a successful period for Videoton.
