The recent bout of flu not only affected several players, but the manager as well.
Manager Gyorgy Mezey was forced to leave the dugout, half way through Tuesday's Hungarian cup match with Honved, at the Sostoi stadium. He had been suffering from flu, and his condition became worse as the match went on. Gyorgy Mezey: "Some form of flu hit some of the players last week, and I also managed to catch it! I did not feel well on the evening before the Ferencvaros match, but I fought it off the following day. It now appears that the illness did not go away completely. My fever started to go up just before our match with Honved, and once we had scored the second goal, and I could see that we would not have too many problems, I left the manager's dugout. I did not think it right to wait for the players in the dressing room, and perhaps further spread the virus. That is why I went home, and I feel much better today. My fever has gone down and I should be back to 100% by tomorrow, as we have a very important match on Friday evening."

Többek között fenti mondat is elhangzott dr. Mezey György tavaszi szezonértékelésében.

Dr. Mezey György szerint simán nyerhettünk volna, Mészöly Géza az egész szezont ítélte sikeresnek.
