Photo529A balassagyarmati származású Szilágyi már 1992-ben, 16 esztendősen szülővárosa csapatának felnőtt keretéhez tartozott és egészen 1998 teléig ott is futballozott - ekkor igazolta le a Vidi.
Az első félévben a tartalékok között szerepelt, majd az 1998-99-es idényben mutatkozott be az első csapatban és a kiesés után is kitartott a csapat mellett, így másodosztályú bajnok. A feljutás után két meccset játszott csapatunknál, de még a nyáron Siófokra igazolt kölcsönbe. Fél év múlva visszatért, de nem játszott újra a klubnál, 2001 nyarán pedig a másodosztályú Pécs szerződtette, ahonnan fél évvel később hazatért Balassagyarmatra, majd a Felcsút, a Polgárdi, a Békéscsaba, az Ajka, ismét a Balassagyarmat labdarúgója volt, tőlük távozott 2008-ban Izlandra, a Magnihoz.
