Rémi Maréval was born in Domont, France on the 24th February 1983. He played for several clubs including US Chantilly, Beauvais, Oldham Athletic, Ajaccio, FC Tours, FC Nantes, Zulte Waregem, KAA Gent and finally Maccabi Tel Aviv. He played the most games for Nantes (3 years) and two clubs in Belgium, Waregem and Gent. Both saw him stay for 2 years. He played for the latter team against Videoton in the qualifying rounds in the 2012 Europa League. Vidi won those two legs 1-0 and 3-0 respectively. He worked under Paulo Sousa at Maccabi Tel Aviv, who was the previous coach at Vidi. Mareval also represented Martinique in an international match.

The left footed, defender and midfielder has signed a 1 + 1 contract with Videoton. 
"From what I have so far seen of the club and city really appeals to me. I have not had the time to really explore in detail and get to know the country and the culture. I know that Vidi made it to the  UEFA cup final against Real Madrid in 1985. I was on the Gent side that faced Videoton in the 2012 Europa League. That was not a good experience then as we lost both legs. I want to show that I am a good player at this club, and I hope that I can help the team to reach their goals, which is to win the  league and then perform well on the international stage" - commented Remi Mareval to Vidi.hu

Naturally he will be a help to us this spring, and in the European competition and also next season. He was most recently at Maccabi Tel Aviv under Paulo Sousa.
