MOL Fehervar FC and Istvan Kovacs have come to an agreement on the international midfielder signing a contract extension. 

Istvan Kovacs joined Vidi on the 18th January 2012. He helped the club to two league title wins and a Hungarian Cup. There was also the Super Cup and the League Cup to celebrate during his time with us. He has won all there is to win in Hungary. Kovacs also played in the EL Group Stage twice and he is the 41st player of the club to represent his country. 

He has appeared in 180 NB I league games in Vidi colours and that saw him score 19 goals. Overall he has featured in 268 games for Vidi and 26 goals. 

"I am pleased to be continuing my career with Vidi and I did not have to think long about accepting the extension to my current deal. I have been a Vidi player for 7 years now and that means I have been here for almost the same time as I was at the club that raised me through the youth system. I hope that after such a long period, not only the club but also Szekesfehervar have accepted me as a player and someone who lives in the city. I last extended my contract back in 2016 and have since gone on to help the club win the league title and Hungarian Cup. There was also the EL Group stage so I hope that we can be celebrating similar success together in the future. A person is never satisfied within football and even with what he has won. I do not want to sit back but I have really won all there is to win at home. However, I want to win more trophies with Vidi. One of the best moments of my career was the CL play off where the CL anthem rang out and that is a feeling I really want to feel again" - commented Istvan Kovacs.

He has managed to continuously develop as a player. It is not only his capabilities but also his personality and the way he is that makes him one of the main faces at Vidi.
