We ended the 2019-2020 season away at Zalaegerszeg on the 27th June and now we start the new 2020-2021 season there. There is a prospect of an interesting clash, as the head coach of our club is Gabor Marton, who was sitting on the opponent's bench when the two sides last met.

ZTE FC are now managed by Gabor Boer but there has been plenty of change within their squad. Heading out were Gergely Bobal, who moved to Nacional in Portugal. Eduvie Ikoba to Trencin in Slovakia. Gergo Kocsis will be playing his football with Podbeskidzie in Poland. Eric McWoods has joined Balzan in Malta. Nikola Mitrovic has moved to Budapest side Ujpest, while Andras Rado has switched to Vasas SC. Zoltan Stieber has also joined Ujpest FC. Also leaving following loan deals were Bendeguz Bolla who has returned to Vidi, Lukacs Bole to FTC, Matija Katanec to Mezokovesd, Stjepan Ostrek back to Slovenian Nafta Lendava. Krisztian Tamas, who was also on loan from Vidi has joined Honved.

Arrivals included Filip Dragoner from Mezokovesd, Marton Gyurjan from Szombathely, Norbert Konyves from Paks, Bertalan Kun from Győr, Bence Szabo from Debrecen, Bojan Szankovic from Irtis in Kazakhstan, Matyas Tajti from Polish club Zaglebie Lubin, Patrik Vass from MTK and David Zimonyi from Lipot. Loan arrivals were Rego Szantho from FTC, Artyem Favorov from PAFC and Ziga Zivko from Nafta Lendava.

The blue-and-whites had a pre-season camp in Cyprus in the summer, where they played two matches, 0-0 against Nea Salamis, 1-0 against Omonia (with Babati scoring). During the preparation, they played in three more matches, against NB II ETO, who were beaten 3-1 (with goals from Könyves, Sankovics and Szökrönyös), they were defeated 1-0 by Mura of Slovenia, while they beat the second team of Croatian club Osijek by 2-0.

Last season, there were two ZTE - Vidi matches at the ZTE Arena, both ending in a draw, with the first 3-3 and the second 1-1.
