The match was played under floodlights with the home side still participating in the UEFA Cup. They played Ruch Chorzow a few days after this game. There were not too many present who thought that Vidi could come away with anything from league leaders Honved. The game started with an early lead for the home supporters to celebrate. Kozma headed home after 6 minutes from 8 meters out. Vidi came back with a similar goal after 66 minutes. Karsi sent a free kick into the box for Szalmasy to head into the back of the net from 8 meters. Videoton were enjoying more of the ball following that goal and the winning strike came after 86 minutes. Szalmasy ran alone at the home defenders before calmly slipping the ball beyond keeper Bicskei. It proved to be the surprise of the weekend with Vidi playing with organisation throughout.

The Vidi Ferencvaros game promised to be a big game in Fehervar. This was not only due to both teams being towards the top of the table, but because both sides played attractive attacking football during the 92/93 season. The teams did not disappoint with close to 20,000 inside the stadium. Videoton started calmly and created two big chances early on, but they did not find the back of the Ferencvaros net. Lipcsei then scored at the other end to give his side the lead. This was increased to 0-2 shortly after through Balog. However, Videoton would turn the game on it's head in the second half inside a short space of time. Ferenc Horvath hit two goals in the 58th and 62nd minute. Those two goals came either side of another goal for the home team to make it 3-2. Videoton pushed forward and placed plenty of pressure on the visiting goal. It sent the home fans home happy and the sports journals were full about it the following day.
1998 - Videoton come from 0-4 down to earn a draw with Dunaferr

There have been several big games between the sides over the year. The majority of supporters gladly remember back to 1988 and a special game where four goal hero Robert Jovan helped Vidi to a 4-1 win. There was an equally exciting game 10 years later in 1998. Dunaferr surprised Videoton and took advantage of a mistake in the home defence to go ahead. Dunaferr played good football and the score was already 0-3 after 10 minutes! Vidi started to get back in the game after that and were more active, but they found it hard to get through the Dunaferr defence who coped with the threat of Vancsa and Kuntics. The sides went in at half time with the visitors leading 1-4. However, Videoton would force an impressive comeback to earn a draw with three goals coming from Waltner (2) and the fourth close to the end from Vancsa.
