Joan Carrillo: The first training camp is all about being physically prepared

The head coach revealed why he is counting on the spring season being difficult. He also gives his thoughts on Remi Mareval and fellow new signing Mirko Ivanovski.

"The most important task during the pre-season period is for the team to arrive for the first league match at Győr, in the best condition. We need to develop day after day. The main emphasis for the first training camp is on the physical side of things, but it is also important to practice the tactical elements as well. We will travel back to Hungary for six days at the end of January, before returning once again to Spain. The main aim of the second training camp will be to use these tactical elements even better and with results during friendly games. There will be several friendly games during the second camp in February, than in January. We need to also focus on both the attacking and defending tactical elements, so that these will work well in the first friendly game. We need to fix those mistakes until then. Although we lead the table by eight points, we must understand that a very difficult spring lies ahead of us, which we will need to fully prepare for. The spring season will be a tough one, as we will have to play in several competitions. We have very professional players in our squad. They all returned back in good condition following the break, which is the result of the training program given to them before the break. Looking at the two new players, one of them did not play this season, so we need to work with him separately, so that he can be in the optimal form. However, I feel that both of them are in good condition." - commented Joan Carrillo to the website.
