Liverpool is his favourite team, Lionel Messi is the favourite player of our new midfielder, who hasn't even given up on the Olympic Games. Introductory interview.

You've been with us for a week and you've already had your first training session in the training camp. How do you feel in red and blue?
My first impressions are absolutely positive, whether we're talking about the teammates, the coaching staff or the conditions. Everyone has been kind and helpful.
Did you have the closest contact with Kasper Larsen from Denmark in the first days?
Yes, even though we didn't know each other before, we quickly became friends and he helps me a lot with the daily routine of settling in.
Which language do you use in your conversations with each other?
I speak Norwegian to him, he speaks Danish to me, but we understand each other, it's very similar, almost the same language. But that helps too, because especially in the first days it means a lot to have a team mate with whom I can communicate in my mother tongue.
How is Hungary different from Norway?
The culture is different, of course, but there are no big differences in terms of football, the training is similar to my previous teams, we have the same jokes with our teammates and everyone works hard in training. It's too early to talk about the differences in playing style after a week, but I see a lot of good players playing in the Hungarian National League and the intensity of the training is high.
Who or what inspired you to become a footballer when you were young?
There's no particular story behind it, but I fell in love with football at a very young age, I loved playing football as a little kid, football became a hobby when I was a teenager and it was what I loved doing most in my everyday life. I was lucky enough that it is now my hobby and my job.
You were only 20 when you celebrated a championship title with Vlade. After such success, what is your real motivation for the future of your career?
Indeed, we won the Norwegian championship with Vlade, and in a quality Norwegian league at that, but even then my plan was to progress and succeed at other clubs. My goal with all my teams, including Fehérvár, is to play on the European stage and fight for the best possible positions in the top of the league.
Is there a club in your plans where you would like to play?
I don't have a specific league or team in mind, and right now I'm not focused on where I could sign in the future, but on being successful with Vidi. One day I would like to get to one of the strongest leagues, but I still have a lot of hard work ahead of me. In Norway, English football is the favourite of almost everyone, the majority of young Norwegians want to play for an English team one day, and fans don't mind spending money to watch Premier League matches on TV. My favourite team is Liverpool, which sort of came naturally, as my brothers and sisters are Pool fans, and many of my friends are, but other big English clubs like Manchester United also have a lot of fans in Norway.
Do you have a favourite player?
Yes, definitely Lionel Messi. There's no question that he's the best player, so of course I was happy for Argentina to win the World Cup, he deserved it.
We're talking in the lobby of the Novigrad hotel where our training camp is taking place in Croatia. Have you been here before?
We played with the Norwegian U21 national team in Croatia, but I've never been here for a training camp before, we used to go to Marbella in Spain with my Norwegian team.
Have you been to Hungary before?
Yes, we have played with the U21 national team in Hungary and in September 2020 we played against Ferencváros in the Champions League play-off, where we lost by the away goal rule. By the way, a lot of Norwegians come to Hungary on trips, and I've heard positive reports from them. The first few days I stayed in a hotel in Fehérvár, I had some time to look around the city and met a lot of friendly people.
You got the 20 shirt at Vidi. Did you play in it before?
Yes, my first shirt number was 20. Before that I had no attachment to this number, there had been a lot of occupied numbers, and I liked the number 20 and have stuck with it ever since.
Where in midfield do you feel most at home?
I like to play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and defensive midfielder, I don't have a favourite between the two. I played as a 10 when I was very young, and there were times during my professional career when I played as a right winger, but midfielder was always my real position.
What are your strengths?
I consider myself a creative player on the pitch, I like to put my teammates in position and give goal passes. I would like to improve my left foot for better passing and shooting.
What are your goals for the spring?
I would like to help the club achieve its goals. Norway had a 16-team league, here it's 12, which might contribute to the fact that there are few points separating the teams and that makes the league more exciting.
How much do you have the Norwegian senior selection in mind?
Of course, I want to make my debut there, but I have to add that the Norwegian team is made up of great players, it's hard to get in. When it might become a reality is hard to say, but I hope it will be in a few years. For now I'm concentrating on the U21 national team, with whom we will play in the European U21 Championship in the summer.
You were born in 2000, so this could be your last chance to make a big splash with the U21s.
It's certainly in the cards that this will be my last tournament with them, but there's a chance it won't be. Because if we finish in the top five, we could qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which is a nice challenge.
Kasper Larsen, for example, has played in the Olympics with the Danish national team.
Really? I didn't know that. I would be happy to have that opportunity.
