Videoton FC hit their Spanish opponents with a nine goal blast on Monday afternoon
Videoton's second winter pre-season friendly kicked off In lovely sunny weather, against Spanish side UD Marbella. New manager José Gomes took his place on the bench for his first game in charge.
Vidi took control of the game from the start, with Gyurcso hitting a dangerous free kick after just 3 minutes. Torghelle played a lovely ball through to Kovacs, 5 minutes later, and the young midfielder hit a shot with the outside of his right foot beyond the diving Spanish keeper to put Vidi ahead. Kovacs was twice brought down in suspicious circumstances in the first 15 minutes of the game, but the referee waved play on for both incidents. The home side often had 7-8 men behind the ball as vidi continued to come forward with attacking football.
Vidi quickly increased their lead in the second half. Paraiba took advantage of a mistake in the Spanish defence, after 48 minutes, to put Vidi further ahead. Nikolics came on and carried on where he had left off in the previous match, by scoring yet another goal. The red and blues then hit four goals between the 62nd and 68th minute, thanks to goals from Spanish youth player Luque, who plays his football for the Puskas Academy side. The other goals came from yet another Niko strike, before Luque hit his second. Marbella did score a consolation goal in the 68th minute through Sanchez.
Oliveira was on hand to sweep home a cross from the right from Haraszti after 70 minutes. Things became even better after 77 minutes, with a great strike from Haraszti. Substitute Zsoter came on and found the back of the net a minute later, which was the 17 year old's first ever goal in Vidi colours. That proved to be the final goal in a match that ended in a 9-1 win for Videoton. .
