Videoton FC have been training hard at their training base in Marbella, where they will be for three weeks. They face several friendly matches, with the first of those set to be played on Tuesday. Swiss side FC Basel will line up against Nikolics and co in the 16:00pm kick off. Basel have won their domestic league title six times since season 2001-2002. This period has also seen them finish runners up three times. They are the third most successful side in Swiss football, if we look at the records since 1897. The most successful side has been Grasshoppers with 27 championships. Servette follow behind them with 17, while Basel have collected 14 so far. However, this decade has seen Vidi's opponents dominate the domestic football in Switzerland. 

Best side in Switzerland in 2011

Basel collected the league championship in 2011. They also emerged top of a four team tournament, which included West Ham, Hertha and Young Boys. They have won the Swiss cup 10 times, although Sion surprisingly won it last year.

They have qualified from their Champions league group!

Basel did not need to play any qualification games to take part in the Champions League. They began straight away from the group stages. Their first opponents were Otelul Galati from Romania, and they picked up all three points. They then surprised all of Europe by drawing 3-3 with Manchester United at Old Trafford. Even more notable was the fact that the red devils were 2-0 up after 17 minutes. Benfica then travelled to Switzerland and won 2-0 in Basel. The return leg in Portugal ended in a 1-1 draw and another point for the Swiss side. The red and blues returned from a difficult trip in Romania with three points, aftera good 3-2 win over Galatit. However, they saved the biggest surprise for last, by beating Alex Ferguson's Manchester United 3-2 in Basel to qualify from their group. FC Basel will now play Bayern Munich next in another massive challenge for them.
