Manager Joan Carrillo led Vidi to their second ever league title following a great season.

Week after Week
Vidi started the series with a club record of 10 wins at the beginning of the season. Those games in order were Lombard Papa (h), Dunaujvaros (h), Győr (h), Nyiregyhaza (a), MTK (h), Puskas Academy (h), Ujpest (h), Haladas (a), Diosgyőr (h) and Pecs (a). Vidi won all of those matches scoring 27 goals and conceding just 3! Debrecen managed to win at the Sostoi in week 11 of the campaign, but no other team has managed to repeat that following that. That means that Vidi were now 15 matches unbeaten.
The autumn defeat against Debrecen was followed with wins at home to Paks (h), Honved (h), Papa 5-0 (a), Dunaujvaros 4-1 (a), which gave Vidi an 8 points lead over MTK and 12 over DVTK. The spring season started with a draw at Győr, before a win at home to Nyiregyhaza. MTK were beaten away and a 0-0 draw at Puskas Academy followed. A run of 5 wins continued the season with wins over Ujpest, Haladas, DVTK, Pecs and then at the home of Debrecen.
All records are broken
Week 15 of the campaign resulted in a 0-0 draw with Ferencvaros. That produced 38 points including 12 wins, 2 draws and a single defeat. Videoton went into the winter break sitting comfortably at the top of the league table.
Five goals were scored away from home as Vidi easily came away with the points from Papa. Another good win saw a 4-1 scoreline against Dunaujvaros. The year ended with a record amount of points secured. The club also revealed their exciting new plans to redevelop the Sostoi stadium.
Personal milestones
Nemanja Nikolics was the top goalscorer with 21 goals in 24 matches. Robert Feczesin followed him with 7 goals from 16 matches. There were two players on 6 goals in the form of Adam Gyurcso and Filipe Oliveira. We must also mention the assists as well. Adam Gyurcso provided assists 19 times in 25 games, which was a fantastic showing!
Second league title secured
The first spring league game resulted in a 2-2 draw away at the home of Győr. That was followed by a 3-0 win over Nyiregyhaza and a 1-0 win away at second in the table MTK. Both sides failed to score when Vidi met the Puskas Academy as the season continued.
The 1-0 win over Ujpest meant the lead at the top of the table was now 10 points. There was a big win over Haladas at the Sostoi stadium and a 2-1 win away at DVTK. An impressive 4-0 win against Pecs just added to the feel good factor as Vidi headed towards their second ever league title success.
Videoton had not been able to win away at Debrecen for 14 years but a 2-1 win at their new stadium shattered that record. Ferencvaros failed to beat Pecs the following day, which meant that Videoton were crowned champions for the second time. That saw the supporters come out on to the streets of Szekesfehervar to party late in to the night.
The final four games of the season produced a mixed bag of results. Vidi lost 1-0 away at Paks and took a point from the game at Honved. Kecskemet were beaten 1-0 and the season ended with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Ferencvaros in Budapest. That did not change matters as Videoton ended the season in top spot.
The season ended with a record points haul in the league, which gave the Vidi supporters plenty to cheer about during the season and celebrate in numbers when the title was clinched.
Club record
The 30 league games have seen 71 points picked up. 64 goals have been scored and 14 conceded. Vidi won 22 of those 30, drawing five and losing just 3 times. They finished 7 points clear of second place FTC.
