The Spaniard has returned to the club he led to the league title in 2015.

Joan Carrillo has officially taken over as the new manager of MOL Fehervar FC as of Wednesday. The Spaniard has taken over until the summer of 2021.
Joan Carrillo arrived at our club in the summer of 2011 as the assistant to then manager Paulo Sousa. He remained to work alongside Jose Gomes in the same position. The chance to take over as manager arrived after the departure of the Portuguese coach. He was named manager of Vidi in June 2014. He guided the team to the best start to a league season in the clubs history and managed the team to the 2014-15 league title. He also took the team to the Hungarian Cup final before leaving at the end of that season.
Joan moved back to Spain to take charge of Almeria before heading to Croatia and taking over Hajduk Split. He also had a spell in charge of Polish club Wisla Krakow. He returned back to MOL Fehervar FC on the 25th November 2019. Joan Carrillo is the new manager of the club as of today. He will be assisted by Xavier Coll Planas who will be joining the coaching staff.
"I am delighted to be returning to Szekesfehervar. I can work together with very good players and I will have a person behind me in the form of Zoltan Kovacs. I know that he wants the same as me. That is a successful team and a successful club. I know that he will support me and that is very important for me. Equally as important is that club owner Istvan Garancsi wants exactly the same. I know that he gave his backing to my returning to the club and that shows he believes in me. I will be working to repay the faith shown in me. I want the supporters to be able to say that they have a team that is organised and that plays attacking football and one they can be proud of" - commented the new manager.
"We felt the time had arrived for a change and did not want to wait until the end of the autumn season. I feel that Joan Carrillo does not need to be introduced to the Hungarian football supporters and to even fewer here in Szekesfehervar. He achieved fantastic success with the team earlier. He did not get the chance to finish off what he had started so now he can continue that. We will give him our backing in everything. I can say on behalf of all the employees at the club that we are pleased that he has returned. I am happy that Joan Carrillo is the new manager" - commented Zoltan Kovacs, Director of Football.
