Both manager's spoke to the gathered press after the match.

Pető Tamás: I would like to firstly congratulate Lech on their win. My team played better compared to recent weeks. Perhaps I can say much better than the period behind us. Unfortunately we did not have luck on our side this evening. We managed to create a few chances, but we could not convert these. Our opponents took advantage of our mistakes. I still think that we did not play a minor role and we were worthy opponents for the home side. They are this much ahead of us, while we will continue to work and prepare for the matches ahead.
Maciej Skorza: We picked up a good result and I am satisfied. It really helped things that we scored a goal early on following a good move. We prepared for the Videoton attacks and we succeeded in filtering them out. We also did not have things too easy up front. This is why it is really good that we scored three goals. We managed to control the match until the final whistle. I hope that we can produce a similar game in the away match. It was a gamble to play Gergo Lovrencsics after his injury, but we did well and he also put in an important assist.

Videoton had chances at the home of Lech Poznan, but could not find the back of the net. The home side took advantage of their chances to secure a first leg lead.
