A big interview was carried out with the player who made his Vidi debut in the 3-0 home win.

- You moved to Italy in 2007, and with the exception of a year, when you spent a loan period in 2009/10 with Debrecen, you played your football abroad. Did you plan to finally return home after those seven years?
It was not completely unexpected that I would return home. I could hear reports last year that the Italian club were on the brink of going bankrupt, and that all of the players would become free transfers. Although I did have possibilities to remain in Italy, I seriously thought about continuing at home, and it turned out this way.
- Why did you choose Videoton?
The most important thing for me is that I could see, as I had done abroad, that a system was continuously being built in Szekesfehervar, with both the club and the team. There are several players that I have known from the past, and they confirmed all of this.
- Who are those footballers that you personally know from the past?
Gyorgy Sandor came through the youth system with me at Ujpest, and we are really good friends. We kept this good relationship going when our careers took different paths. We used to speak weekly on the phone. I am also very good friends with Roland Juhasz, who I got to know from the national team, and I also played football with Tamas Horvath at Ujpest.
- What was your first impression of the team, and of those players that you did not know previously?
I can only say positive things about everything. It really is very professional that we can prepare in facilities that are at the western-Europe level. My team mates greeted me well, and I have joined a really good group. Everyone has been very helpful so my blending in period went smoothly.
- What was your most memorable match during your period playing abroad?
There are several so it would be hard to pick one out. My first goal in Italy, which I scored against Ravenna, or my first goal in the Italian Serie A will surely long live in my memory. I feel that I can be proud of the first 4-5 years that I played abroad, and I played many games and scored goals. Sadly the last year, or eighteen months were negative, which saw me also pick up injuries. I was satisfied on the whole with my career abroad.
- You last played for the national team in 2011. You cannot be considered as an old player at the age of 28. Did it cross your mind that playing again in the Hungarian first division would give you more chance, and if the goals arrive, you could receive a call up sooner than later?
No, I have not really thought about this, and I did not come back to the NB1 to be more in the frame of those watching. I feel that those players that have played abroad, have probably got a bigger chance to get in to the national team. This was not a focal point in me returning back to Hungary. The most important thing for me is to produce the best possible performances for Vidi.
- What targets have you arrived to Fehervar with?
Naturally the main target is to be as successful as possible and to help the team achieve this. I am not the type of player that likes to make promises, as I prefer to do my thing out on the pitch. The target is to qualify for the European competitions.
- How much did you follow the NB1 while you played abroad, and how much do you think the Hungarian league has changed during those seven years?
Of course I continuously followed the Hungarian league from Italy. It is hard to say what changes there have been and to what extent. I will be able to give an answer to this in around 2-3 weeks' time, when I have played in league matches. One thing certain is that there have been real changes in infrastructure over recent years, and I am thinking here about the new stadiums first. This has helped us to cut the gap with Europe, but I cannot say if this will have an effect on the actual level of football.
- Are you not worried that the journalists and supporters will be critical of you, seeing as you have returned home after seven years playing abroad?
No, not at all! This is an expected thing in Hungary, that a professional player hopes to move abroad for bigger money, and if he actually returns home, then it means that he was not needed elsewhere. This is not the situation as I had interest from other Italian clubs, and I could have stayed in Italy. I have prepared myself that they will be critical of me, but I will do my best to shut this out, and concentrate only on playing football. The same negativity could be experienced in Italy.
- You made your debut in a winning Vidi side. What was it like to play in the Hungarian league once more?
I am very pleased that we have won our second match, and also pleased that I could play out there on the pitch. I still need to get used to the playing style of the team, but I am sure that with each training session, I will be closer to the tempo. I also hope that I can help the team be successful in next weeks' big home match against Győri ETO.
22 August 2007. Hungary - Italy 3-1 (0-1)It is interesting that 7 years ago in a friendly international match, Hungary beat Italy 3-1 in Budapest. The first Hungarian goal that day came from Roland Juhasz, while the third was scored by Robert Feczesin. Zoltan Gera, who has also returned back to play in Hungary scored the second goal in that match. |

Two goals in time added on turned the game on its head and gave Vidi three important points.

The goalscoring midfielder highlighted the fact that this success can give strength for the two big matches next week.

The forward added that we will have to play our own game, while the team will do everything to make it through.

His header was the difference in the match between first and second in the league table.

We asked the players questions about their everyday lives, the habits and whether there are any important aspects that play a vital role besides work and learning.

The forward scored three goals against Kunszállás SE in the Hungarian cup.
