- You have spent the last few days together with the team at the Austrian training camp. You have watched the training sessions and the first pre-season friendly match. What are your experiences and what have you noticed so far?

I have received what I was expecting, that the team are together and the players on one wavelength, with a suitable discipline, both in training and in games. My opinion is that the facilities here are very good, with the coaching staff successfully solving the task in hand, which is pleasing. I have experienced during training that the players appear to be relaxed, while concentrating on completing their work with great intensity. This gives us reason to hope. There are not too many conclusions to draw from the first friendly match, but you could still see some important aspects. One of those was the difference in dynamics in each half. There were problems that arose, but this is acceptable at this stage of pre-season. The pre-season period allows the team to get in to perfect conditions in time for the start of the season.

- All the facilities are in place for the players to concentrate solely on football. Do you think that this could be one of the keys to success?

If the targets are serious, then we have serious responsibilities to create perfect surroundings. We try hard to create all the requirements that will help a footballer complete his work, but we cannot expect anything other than for the attitude of the squad to not be able to criticize.

- I think that it is no secret that things are going on at a great speed in the background to strengthen the team. When do you think that the squad will be complete?

I believe that the squad will largely be in place by the end of next week, with one or two exceptions. We are in advanced negotiations with several players. We will continue to remain calm and we will primarily try to bring in players that we have earlier picked out.  If for some reason these do not work out, we will not be in despair as we have players on the horizon that we can still bring in, which would result in us strengthening.

- Finally a personal question for you. You have not been this close to football for almost 20 years, as you have been recently. You have managed to smoothly return to the world of football, but have you got back what you were counting on?

Virtually from the moment I got back in to work, I managed to totally get back in to the bloodstream of football. I have spent my life always concentrating on the things that I am actually doing. From the moment that I step in to the building at the Sostoi stadium, my thoughts switch immediately to Vidi. When I wake up in the morning, I start to think about football. Naturally this was not always the case in recent years, as I was not dealing with football then, but it is only football that applies to me now. Football has played a large part of my life, and the part of football that is positive and successful. This is why I am optimistic, as I know what is needed to achieve results. Those include discipline, work, perseverance and humility. We can then begin to talk about technique and tactics, as these are also important, but to be able to stay within this, disciplined people are required.
