The experienced match official will take charge of the important league match on Saturday
Saturday's league game at Pecs will be refereed by a fairly young match official. Thirty-three year old Ando-Szabo Sandor will take charge of what is sure to be an action packed league match, with three points on offer, which would further cement Vidi's place at the top end of the OTP league table. Szabo officiated in four games involving Vidi during the 2010/2011 season. The first was the 2-1 home win over Paks, and he was also the referee when Vidi won 4-1 away at Kaposvar, with the final one being the 2-1 home win over MTK in March. He made his first division debut in 2006, in a match involving Debrecen and REAC. Szabo has since gone on to become a member of the FIFA group of referee's, which he joined in 2008.
He was voted official of the year in 2009, picking up the Herzka Pal award at the same time. He has also refereed two games against Győri ETO. The first was the 1-0 defeat at the ETO park, but he was also in the middle when Vidi beat the Győr club 2-1 at the Sostoi. Szabo officiated in Wednesday evening's qualification game in Podgorica, which saw Montenegro comfortably beat San Marino.
