Videoton FC had to settle for a point after Haladas fought back from two goals down to pick up a point at the Rohonci stadium on Saturday evening. Over 200 travelling Vidi fans made the journey west to support their side, who were looking to close the gap on the top two. With Debrecen dropping two points at home to Siofok, and Győr keeping up their winning ways, Videoton's point away at good opponents is more than respectable.
Paulo Sousa kept a virtually unchanged side for this OTP league game with Bozovics keeping goal, with the settled back four of Brachi, Caneira, Vinicius and Szolnoki lining up in front of the giant Montenegro keeper. There was plenty of experience in the midfield with Toth, Mitrovics, Sandor, Walter and Oliveira making up the numbers with Torghelle upfront. The Rohonci stadium is always a difficult place to get a result, with Haladas' unbeaten start to the spring season confirming how much they have improved lately.
Vidi had an early effort following a long Brachi throw, which was headed into the path of Sandor, but the danger was cleared after 2 minutes. Much of the early exchanges took place in the middle of the pitch with both sides trying to gain the upper hand. There was a good atmosphere inside the Szombathely stadium with Ugrai seeing his 9th minute chance go wide of the post. Toth had the first real effort on goal for the visitors, with his powerful 25 meter shot going wide of Rozsa's goal. Ugrai continued to pose a threat on the Vidi goal with another chance, which went wide of the right hand post. Brachi saw his free kick go into the hands of the Haladas keeper on the quarter hour mark. Halmosi also had a chance from a tight angle go wide on 20 minutes. There were plenty of challenges going on in the first period resulting in the referee blowing for constant offences.
Rozsa was on hand to collect another Brachi free kick after 26 minutes. Torghelle then had a good chance go wide from close range on the half hour mark. Halmosi replied for the hosts with a good chance that went close a few minutes later. Vidi then took the lead close to the half time whistle. Oliveira broke well into the box deceiving three defenders before finding the back of the net to give Vidi a lead. The visitors went in ahead at the break, but the second half was to prove even more eventful with a further three goals going in. Guzmics tried to head at goal following a Haladas corner on 52 minutes but the effort was cleared.
Things got better for Paulo Sousa's side on 59 minutes when Guzmics handballed inside the box and the official gave a penalty. Captain Gyorgi Sandor confidently found the bottom left hand corner to give Vidi a two goal cushion. Haladas did find a way back into the game on 65 minutes. Rado headed home from close range following a cross to give the home side hope.
Halmosi remained dangerous throughout the game, showing signs of the form that saw him play in England for several years. Mitrovics shot at goal on 69 minutes, with the keeper doing well to push the ball away from the approaching Torghelle. The game continued to provide excitement with both sides trying to score goals. Haladas drew level on 79 minutes when a cross from the right found its way to Halmosi who made no mistake from close. That was to prove the last goal as both teams emerged from this good match with a point each. Vidi will perhaps feel disappointed to have left two points behind in Szombathely, but Haladas is a place where very few sides will emerge with anything this season.

Nehéz mérkőzésre számítottunk, és ez be is igazolódott. Hiába vezettünk Oliveira és Sándor góljaival, a Haladás egyenlíteni tudott.

A két csapat edzője a találkozót követően értékelte a látottakat.

A Vidi szombathelyi mérkőzése apropóján beszélgettünk.
