Looking at the autumn statistics

We take a closer look at how Videoton performed over the first half of the 2011/2012 season

Debrecen currently lead second place Győri ETO by four points going into the winter break. They also enjoy a nine point lead over Vidi, with Győr just five points ahead. Both Debrecen and Győri ETO will make visits to the Sostoi stadium over the spring season, so there is all to play for. The situation at the other end of the league table is just as interesting. ZTE looked doomed, having not managed to win a single game so far. However, the battle to survive the second relegation position currently involves several clubs. There is a two points difference between Papa, who currently occupy one of the bottom two relegation places, and tenth placed Ujpest FC, who after a poor start recovered slightly towards the end.

(The current OTP League table after 17 matches)

1 DVSC 17 12 5 0 35-11 41
2 Győri ETO 17 12 1 4 30-18 37

Taking a look at how teams performed on their home pitch, the same three clubs occupy the top three positions. Videoton FC have won seven of their eight games at the Sostoi stadium. The only defeat came in a surprise 0-2 loss to Kecskemet. Ferencvaros have also struggled in front of their own fans, winning just two of their eight games at the Albert stadium. One thing to note is that Paulo Sousa's side have played one game less at home.

16 ZTE 8 0 6 2 6-12 6

The situation away from home for OTP clubs is shown below. Vidi sit in fourth place, having won three, drawn two and lost four so far. That is a statistic that they will be looking to improve as they go into the second half of the season. However, it should also be pointed out that Vidi have already visited tough places as Debrecen, Győri ETO and Ferencvaros in the first half. The away record for ZTE is desperate, as they have lost all nine of their matches. That is the main reason that they sit bottom, cut off from the sides ahead of them.
