Paulo was officially introduced at this morning's press conference
Paulo Sousa was introduced to the media on Tuesday morning. The press conference gave the media the chance to hear at first hand, the thoughts and visions of the Portuguese manager. Sousa sat next to Videoton's Managing Director, Mark Tassy, who gave a brief summary of the period leading up to the new appointment. Paulo showed plenty of enthusiasm and passion during the one hour press meeting, explaining his vision for the future and how he plans to move forward in his new role.
Sousa talked about how he was happy that so many were interested to know his feelings. He talked about the fact that he has lived within the world of football since the age of six. He has worked abroad in the past and is used to the expectations. He was pleased to have the trust of Videoton owner Istvan Garancsi, and is sure that the club will continue to be successful. He has done his homework on the club, having watched Videoton a couple of times, and seen plenty of DVD's of recent matches.
Paulo decided on accepting the club's offer, having felt the backing of the owner of the club and his ambition. He is sure that he will get the needed backing so that he can build a good team. Videoton has a good infrastructure, which gives plenty of possibilities and potential. The management of the club have given him a free hand to carry his work, to achieve his vision. There is a harmony in the working relationship.
He has seen plenty of games, but did not want to reflect on the past, but the season ahead instead. It is time to look to the future. He is expecting the level of work that will be needed on the international stage. Interesting and exciting times lie ahead for the red and blue club of Fehervar. Videoton may have just won the domestic league, but the emphasis now is on pushing on and achieving more.
