Gyereksarok1093A fehérvári születésű és MÁV Előre-, majd 1985-től Vidi-nevelésű Varga 1991 őszén debütált klubunknál és meglehetősen sokáig, 1996-ig maradt is klubunk kötelékében, bár az utolsó tavaszt kispesti kölcsönben töltötte, velük kupagyőztes is lett. Fehérváron 61 bajnokin lépett pályára a 183 cm magas játékos,
1996 nyarán a Gázszert választotta, tőlük került először kölcsönbe, Finnországba. A kőkemény bekk 1998 tavaszának végén és nyarán szerepelt a Hameenlinna csapatában, majd 1999 tavaszát már a Pécsnél kezdte, de csakhamar végleg megvásárolta őt a Hameenlinna. A finn bajnokság szünete alatt, 1999-00-ben megint kölcsönbe került Pécsre, de aztán 2003-ig megint az említett finn gárdánál futballozott.
