Photo1103A ferencvárosi nevelésű Józsa a zöld-fehéreknél is lett NB I-es kapus, ám Zsiborás Gábor mögött nagyon kevés lehetőséghez jutott. Egy év tatabányai szereplést követően 1988-ig még padozott a zöld-fehéreknél (ahol Zsinka János személyében egy korábbi, Zsivóczky Gyula személyében pedig egy későbbi Vidi-játékos volt csapattársa), aztán a kapus távozásával bekerült a kezdőbe.
A 183 cm magas játékos 1991-ben kétszeres bajnoki ezüstérmesként, kupadöntősként és kupagyőztesként a Ganz Danubiushoz igazolt, ahonnan október végén kölcsönbe került Tatabányára, ezután, 1992-ben választotta Fehérvárt - szintén kölcsönben. Két idény alatt 7 bajnokin védett, majd 1995 telén közös megegyezéssel távozott. A Gázszernél még fél évet szerepelt, de a télen szerződést bontottak vele, így visszavonult és a Fradi kapusedzője lett, ezt a posztot 1996 és 2008 között töltötte be.
