Gyereksarok944Saját nevelésű csatárunk, Jankovics Sándor 1973 tavaszán debütált az NB I-ben, ekkor 18 éves volt. Az ETO elleni 2-0-s vereséggel záruló mérkőzést színeinkben 1977-ig további 38 követte, miközben sorkatonai szolgálatát is letudta a balszélső. Az 1977-78-as idény őszén a tartalékokhoz került vissza, tavaszra teljesen kikerült a csapatból.
1978 nyarán négy góllal tarsolyában hagyta el klubunkat és Debrecenbe igazolt, ahol pályafutása legjelentősebb részét töltötte. Az első idényben a Debreceni MTE játékosa volt, amely 1979-ben egyesült a Debreceni (M)VSC-vel. Három szezont kivéve 1988-ig játszott a DMVSC színeiben, 114 NB I-es bajnokit és számos másodosztályút játszott.
1984-ben Siófokra igazolt és játszott a Larissza elleni UEFA Kupa-találkozókon. 23 NB I-es siófoki találkozó után tért vissza a Hajdúságba, ahol még 10 meccset játszott. Pályafutása utolsó két évét a Debreceni Kinizsinél töltötte.
Később is maradt Debrecenben, előbb pályaedző lett, majd a Debreceni Kinizsi vezetőedzője.
