Balazs Farkas arrived at Videoton in 2005 from Újpest. He went on to become an important member of the playing squad over the years, which resulted in him wearing the captain's armband. Farkas skippered the club to it's first ever league title last season. However, the arrival of new manager Paulo Sousa meant that the experienced midfielder would not feature in the new manager's plans. The player and the club came to an agreement to break up the remainder of the contract. He made a total of 151 appearances for the red and blues, scoring 12 times in the process.
