From the 2023/2024 season onwards, our teams will compete in the competition under the name Fehérvár FC. István Garancsi, the owner of our club, gave an interview to our website on this occasion.

This will be the first season since 2018 that the name of the previous main sponsor will not appear in the club's name. How will this change affect the club's operations?
First of all, I would like to thank MOL for 13 years of cooperation, which gave Vidi the opportunity to have some of its most successful seasons. Without their support, we would not have achieved the unforgettable successes we have been proud of over the past decade.
The new season - now under the name Fehérvár FC - will start with significant changes. We are streamlining operations across the whole club, as we will be operating on a lower budget than before - changes we should have started making earlier. The results we have seen in the spring season and the departure of MOL have accelerated this process, unfortunately Vidi is on a "different shelf" in the NB I compared to what we have been, we can now say that clearly. But change also offers new opportunities. In the adult team we want to give more young Hungarian players a chance to prove themselves, and we are also streamlining our youth teams. Our NB III second team did well last season, we have junior teams, and we want as many of them as possible to reach the first team. I have entrusted the implementation of this plan to Roland Juhász, the Director of Sport, so he will define the precise technical details of the process and the path to our goals.
It was often said that some players signed for Vidi for extremely high salaries. Will this change?
The aforementioned rationalisation has already begun, with the departure of a number of players whose wages no longer fit in with our new ideas and budget. We have set the salary limit that we can still give to the new arrivals in line with our goals.
Speaking of which, what are your objectives for this season?
Unfortunately, in this new situation, we cannot dream of winning a title or even a top three finish. Roland Juhász has to lay the foundations for a rejuvenated team that the fans will love and that will stay in the top division without having to worry about the last round of matches again. It is unrealistic to talk about more ambitious goals and objectives than that.
The stadium was also named after MOL. Is a new stadium sponsor on the cards?
I am not aware of any potential applicants at the moment, so for the new season we have named the facility as Sóstói Stadion, and the process of removing the previous name from some of the surfaces has already begun.
Is the club expecting any new sponsors?
The type and scale of cooperation that we had with MOL is not expected. That said, we are looking for new sponsorship partnerships at a local city level.
Bringing up the city, the question arises. What exactly was the subject of this meeting?
I told the mayor that after the departure of MOL, the financial situation of the club, although stable, is far from what it was before. We outlined an option for cooperation in which the municipality would provide support for the club's junior players and we would also put the stadium on a new footing. It was a constructive and forward-looking discussion, and we will now start working more closely together in certain areas to put Vidi back on the road to success. So far there has been some distance between the club and the city, but both parties understand that we now have a shared responsibility for the success of the club. If there is a concrete agreement and it is finalised, the Mayor and our club will inform the fans of its contents.
