Zoran Kuntics is the new chief scout of Vidi!

The Vidi-bound scout has been working for the Ferencváros player scouting team in recent years, and now returns to Fehérvár with big ambitions.

Zoran Kuntics, who previously was a member of our team as a player in 1995, and also between 1998 and 1999, is the new head scout of MOL Fehérvár FC!

The 55-year-old professional was born on the 23rd March 1968 in Szabadka, his first Hungarian team as a player was Kecskemét in 1994, and apart from Vidi he has played in Hungary for Ferencváros and Vasas, but also for AEK Larnaca in Cyprus. He began his coaching career in the youth teams of Ferencváros and MTK, before continuing as head coach in Diósgyőr and Pápá. He then went on to manage Ferencváros, Hajduk Kula of Serbia and, on his return to Hungary, Dunakeszi, Szigetszentmiklós, Ajka, SZEOL, Salgótarján, Tiszafüred, Ózd and Kecskemét. For the last three years, the Hungarian-speaking professional has been a member of the Ferencváros scouting team, and as a foreigner he is the only player in the history of the club and the only one in the entire field to have earned a 10 rating from Nemzeti Sport, thanks to his four goals and two assists in one match.

"With the departure of Tamás Balogh, the position of head player scout has become vacant, which is one of the key positions in terms of team building, as the basis of a successful player policy is the proper screening, analysis and decision support, which is the task of the scout department. We have entrusted Zoran Kuntics to head this department, who I had worked with before when he was a coach and we have stayed in good contact since then, we talked a lot about football, but the main argument in his favour was his experience in player selection and his commitment to Vidi. I'm confident that with his help we will be able to sign players at a level that will allow Vidi to develop steadily and gradually" István Sallói, the club's sporting director, told our website.

"I like a challenge, for the last three years I worked as a scout for Ferencváros, where I was mainly involved in the South Slavic region. I was delighted to be asked by István Sallói, as I spent two spells as a player at Vidi, where I had a great experience as a player, and I look back on that period with great pleasure. My decision was made easier by my knowledge of the city and the club's traditions, which will help us work together. Of course, I have always followed Vidi and naturally the whole Hungarian league, but I have watched a lot of matches live in the former Yugoslav countries in the past years. I've already started work, today we had a meeting with the scouts, we set the direction and in the next few days we will divide the tasks. My first impressions are very good. I myself believe in hard work and I expect the same from the others. We will do our utmost to help Vidi achieve its goals" said Zoran Kuntics.
