An agreement between Legia Warsaw and our club on Monday means that Lirim Kastrati will continue his career at Vidi!

Lirim Kastrati was born on the 16th January 1999 in Hogosht. At the age of 12, he was first signed as a player for the Kosovo youth team FK Kika, and then he also played for the Albanian club Shkëndija Tiranë and Croatian Lokomotiva Zagreb. At the age of 18, he signed his first professional contract with the latter club, where he scored 23 goals in 80 league games in almost three years. In 2020, Dinamo Zagreb signed Kastrati, where he scored two goals and five assists in 32 league games. Most recently he played for Legia Warsaw, appearing in 16 league games for the Polish side. He made his debut for Kosovo in 2018, making 17 appearances for the national team and scoring his only goal in the 1-0 win over Moldova in the Nations League, while also providing three assists for Kosovo.

Before I accepted the club's offer, I spoke to István Sallói, the sporting director, and Michael Boris, the head coach, and it was great that they both wanted me to come to Székesfehérvár. In addition to the two, I also spoke to my former team-mate Myrto Uzuni about Hungarian football and Vidi, and he had nothing but good things to say about both the league and the Székesfehérvár team. I feel that this will be a good opportunity for me to show myself, and I have no secret goal but to perform in such a way that the Kosovo national team manager will count on me again. Lirim Kastrati will play in the number 10 shirt and his contract runs until 30 June 2025.
