Monday consisted of a training session at 10am following breakfast. Joan Carrillo and his coaching team have been working the players at their base in Marbella. There was sunny but windy conditions as they boarded the coach on route to the training pitch. The group was split into two groups. 

Fortuna Düsseldorf ​​​​​​had a training session on the pitch nearby and there were Fortuna supporters present hungry for autographs. The afternoon session did not take place at the same time for the defenders and forwards. The defenders worked first from 16:00pm while the forwards practised an hour later at 17:00pm. The day ended with the usual dinner for the squad.

The squad were together when training commenced on Tuesday morning. This time the two groups came face-to-face with each other. The end of training saw the coaching team split the squad into four groups as they played in tight areas. The teams played with the three keepers rotating among the two goals.
