Eger are the opponents of MOL Fehervar FC in the Hungarian Cup on Saturday. Vidi enter the cup at the weekend and they travel to the third division side based in the east of the country. Our cup opponents are currently in 10th place in the third tier.

Vidi have met Eger several times in the past in the first division but recently Eger have been playing in the lower leagues. They have played under several different names and have also been reborn after going out of business in 2003. They reformed as Egri FC in 2005 and played in the Heves county league. Lack of floodlights also meant they were forced to play home matches at different locations around the country. Our opponents last changed their name to Eger SE and in 2018 were promoted to the NB III where they currently sit in 10th place. 

Vidi have won five, drawn two and lost three against them over 55 years. There have also been friendly games played that have produced one win, two draws and three losses.

Although the season is still in the early stages, there has already been a change of manager at Eger. Zoltan Klink was named new coach in the beginning of July, but he departed the club on the 6th September. Szilard Suto replaced him on the bench. 

The NB III eastern region club have picked up 2 wins and 5 defeats to sit in 10th place. They have most recently lost to the second teams of both DVTK and DVSC. Top goalscorers with two goals each are Viktor Pataki and Akos Vajda.
