Update on our international players in their qualification games

There were matches for Romania, Bulgaria and North Macedonia over the last few days.

The international break has seen Hungary in action but there were also other Vidi players away on international duty. Cape Verde were not in action so Stopira remained here in Hungary last week. However, Boban Nikolov and Visar Musliu linked up with North Macedonia while Adrian Rus represented Romania. Georgi Milanov also played for the Bulgarian national team.

The North Macedonian team had good results in the EL qualifiers. They collected 4 points with both Musliu and Nikolov playing in the 1-1 draw with Israel on the 5th September. Musliu played the entire match while Nikolov picked up a yellow after 7 minutes and played for 75 minutes. They then faced Latvia on Monday evening and came out 2-0 winners. Musliu also played the whole match but this time Nikolov came on as a substitute. Slovenia have 11 points and lead ahead of North Macedonia who have 8 points.

Georgi Milanov and the Bulgarian side did not do as well. They lost 4-0 away in England and then lost 3-1 to Ireland to make it 9 matches now without a win and they have lost their last 4 games. Our midfielder played in the second game, which was a friendly match and was in the starting eleven. Bulgaria only have a mathematical chance of making it through from group J.

The above mentioned players are already considered experienced when it comes to international football. However, Adrian Rus was also away on international duty. Our defender played in the U21 tournament in June and has since been called up to the senior international squad. Romanian national team manager Cosmin Contra saw his side lost 2-1 to Spain in the qualifier last week and Rus did not feature in that match. He was in the team for the game with Malta and was in the starting eleven. Romania won 1-0 and are up there challenging with both Norway and Sweden.
