The two sides met in the first leg on the 13th March at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. Vidi came away with a 2-1 lead to take into Wednesday's cup match. It promises to be a difficult match against the current league leaders. A place in the final four of the Hungarian Cup is at stake.

Bp. Honved suffered a 3-1 away defeat at Mezokovesd on Saturday. MOL Vidi beat Debrecen 2-1 in Szekesfehervar on the same afternoon. Vidi continue to battle for the league title in Budapest with three important points on offer. Honved have been indifferent lately and are in fifth place in the OTP league table.
