MOL Vidi player Loic Nego attended the Szekesfehervar Mayor's office at 9am on Thursday morning. Born in Paris, the player along with others took his oath to become a Hungarian footballer on the 14th February. The ceremony ended with Szekesfehervar Mayor Dr Andras Cser-Palkovics adding a few words.

"I congratulate you in the town of Saint Istvan, and within the historic walls to take your oath, which for me is an honour to welcome you as a Hungarian Citizen. When I first said my speech following an oath, I was nervous and thought about what was the most appropriate thing to say. There were two elderly ladies who put those words in a much better way than I could have. One of them said that they had waited 60 years for that moment, while the other added that she would be able to pass away more peacefully. I feel that these two comments include everything that today is all about. I would like to thank those present for agreeing to make their oath public. I would also like to say an extra welcome to our new citizen, Loic Nego, who has brought so much joy as a Vidi player. I am delighted that he is now a Hungarian citizen."

We spoke to a happy Loic Nego following the ceremony.

"I feel plenty of happiness as I like living in Hungary. I have been here for five years with the exception of a short period. It is an honour to become Hungarian. I cannot say too much at the moment regarding the national team as it does not depend on me. I cannot play in the colours of the national team according to the current regulations. We will see what the future brings." - Nego was asked whether scoring a goal against Chelsea was harder than learning Hungarian? "Well, neither is easy! I will try to spend more time learning the language."
