It was the first ever time that Vidi played at the home of Kisvarda on Sunday afternoon. Marko Nikolic did not make too many changes to the side that won away in PAOK during the week. The three changes saw Hadzic, Huszti and Milanov replaced by Nikolov, Kovacs and Hodzic. Vidi had met Kisvarda in the season opener in Felcsut in July and recorded a 4-0 win on that day.
Vidi had travelled back to Hungary straight after the game on Thursday and landed in Budapest early Friday morning. They also made the long journey east to Kisvarda on Saturday ahead of the OTP league game. The first chance arrived on 8 minutes when Kovacs went on a good run and his cross was cleared by a home defender. The ball ended up back with him and the powerful shot went over. Nego saw his shot from 25 meters just miss the goal on 15 minutes. However, the French defender won a penalty 2 minutes later. He played a good one-two with Scepovic, before being tripped inside the box. Referee Vad pointed at the spot and Nego calmly stroked the ball in to the back of the net (0-1). It was Nego's first NB I goal this season.
The joy of the early lead did not last long as Protics' cross evaded Fiola at the far post after 26 minutes and Sassa sent a lovely header past Kovacsik to make it 1-1. A ball forward on the half hour from Hodzic bounced off referee Vad's back, and into the path of Nego, who from 15 meters, shot low at goal, but Felipe was in the right place to save. A Misic cross after 35 minutes was headed over the bar from Ene for the home side. A minute later and a Patkai pass was converted into the goal by Scepovic, but the assistant referee flagged for offside and the goal was disallowed.
With 5 minutes of the first period remaining, it was Vidi that again took the lead. Scepovic released Fiola, who crossed from the right, but it was headed out by Melnik, and into the path of Patkai, who from 17 meters sent his low shot into the net (1-2). The final chance of the first half was a Nego shot following a pass from Kovacs, which was saved by the keeper from under his crossbar.
The second half started with shots from the home team. Protics tried first with a shot from 13 meters, that was blocked by Juhasz, with the rebound ended with Lucas shooting at Nikolov. A 56th minute Hodzic shot was confidently saved by Felipe, while a Kovacs effort went just wide of the goal moments later. Kovacs crossed on 66 minutes, which was headed over by Stopira from 11 meters out.
Kisvarda then managed to level after 74 minutes. Lucac played in Protics, whose cross from the left went across the face of the goal and Stopira got there ahead of Milevszkij, but unfortunately converted the ball into his own net (2-2). Vidi could have responded quickly, but Scepovic was again denied by the keeper. With 10 minutes remaining, Sassa shot just inches wide of the goal. It was an exciting end to the game as both teams played for the win. Stopira sent in a pinpoint cross on 86 minutes, which Scepovic headed over.
