The Chelsea FC press conference took place at the Cobham training complex on Wednesday afternoon. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was present together with Ross Barkley.

The Italian manager highlighted the importance of the Europa League besides the league championship. However, the most important target is next season and participating in the Champions League. He said the following about the game: "We need to play well against Vidi if we are to be successful. I saw their game with BATE, and although they lost, they played dangerously. They are a mentally and physically good side with good levels of energy. I am sure that there will be changes to our side following our two games with Liverpool but I will decide this on Thursday."

The 24 year old midfielder has already played in 22 games for the English national team and he provided the assist in their recent away win against PAOK. "My style is more suited to the attacking and I hope that I can play against Vidi. I want to show the national team boss that he can count on me for the national side."

Chelsea had their training session at 15:00pm on Wednesday. There was a small sided game with big stars Eden Hazard, Willian, Cesc Fabregas and Mateo Kovacic taking part. Gianfranco Zola was also there to assist the Chelsea boss.
