Marko Nikolic: The big things are never given easy

The Vidi manager looks forward to Tuesday's first leg match in Sweden.

Swedish and Hungarian journalists were interested in Anel Hadzic and Marko Nikolic as they faced the media on Tuesday evening in Malmö. The manager handled the larger part of the press conference.

What are you expecting from Tuesday's game and how have you prepared?

We are proud to be representing Hungary in this competition. We will be playing a very good side on Tuesday, but as I have said earlier, nobody has the right to take the dream away from us. We will do all we can to make this dream continue. We are playing in a good stadium against a good side so I am expecting a good match. We respect the Malmö side but we believe in big things and are ready for the game.

Do you have any players banned or injured for the game?

We have one player out (Szabolc Huszti), but this is official information and everybody knows this. All the other players are ready for the game.

We found out from the Malmö manager Uwe Rösler at his press conference that his friend Thomas Doll gave him plenty of information about Vidi. Do you think the Ferencvaros manager was able to give any surprising details about the team?

I do not know how to answer this question. Technology allows you to see any game in the 21st century so there are no real secrets. Malmö is a serious side and I am sure they have done their homework on us as we have on them.

Do you have any experience of Malmö or Swedish football?

The Swedish national team achieved good results without star players and play very good team football. Malmö are a big team and they played a friendly game against us four years ago when I was manager of Partizan. It was just before the Champions League qualifiers and the result ended 3-3. Age Hareide was their manager then and it was a really good game and both sides did well after that in Europe. The home team play in a good stadium and they have good supporters but let us not forget that we also have experienced players who have also played in front of packed stadiums. Tuesday's game will not bring anything new to either the team of the coaching staff. It will be a good challenge and it will not be an easy game, but I believe in my team. We are ready for the game. We can take a big step against Malmö in achieving our dreams. However, in sport and also in life, there is no such thing as big things coming easy.

Would you accept a 3-3 draw?

We would like to win and have not come here to draw. However, any match can turn out being 3-3 in the end or even a 1-1 draw, which would be a good result. But what message would I give my players if I was to say 3-3 is a good result.
