- You were born in Baja, which has already provided legendary players for Vidi in the Disztl brothers. Why did you choose to be a footballer?

You could say that football chose me. I grew up in a family that virtually everyone had played football in. My grandfather and father both played, and even my brother. I did not have to think long about the sport I wanted to choose. I started to learn the basics about the game in my home town from the age of 7. I am very proud that there have been really good footballers from Baja. The Disztl brothers are an example of that. It would be great to have a similar career to the one they had. 

- You could say that one of the biggest successes of your playing career so far was to be captain of the youth international side?

Yes, I am very proud that the then international manager, Robert Kilin chose me as captain. When I was a kid growing up in Baja, we used to play football next to the canal and I would never had guessed back then that I would have the captains arm band for an international side on my arm. I still have that shirt and arm band to this very day. 

- Do you have a favourite game that you played in and that is memorable?

One of those is the U21 match that we played in Gyirmot against Portugal. The Portuguese led 3-1 but we fought back to 3-3. It was a great result for us personally. I also have similar memories in a game that took place 2 years ago between FTC and Vasas. We won 2-1 away from home and Pavlov scored the winning goal in the final minute. Then there is the NB I match against Ujpest were I scored the winning goal in the 90th minute to win 3-2.

- Has it been easy to settle into Vidi?

Yes, you can say that it has gone completely problem free. I have really been helped by several players that I have known previously. Krisztian Tamas and Krisztian Geresi from the youth international sides. Then there is Jozsef Varga, Adam Kovacsik and Attila Fiola from the senior national squad. I have played against all of them as an opponent.

- Danko Lazovic among others.

Yes, I know what you are thinking about (laughter). Last spring in a game at Felcsut, we played against each other and we were both sent off following a completely innocent incident by referee Zsolt Szabo. Actually it was the second game in a row that I was shown the red card (laughter). I met Danko at the disciplinary hearing and we laughed at the whole thing. We still do not know until this day why we were sent off. I had the chance to clear things up with the match officials and he said sorry after that. He had appeared to have seen me hit Lazovic, but the video show differently. When I first met up with Danko at Vidi, we looked at each other and started to laugh and then shook hands and there is nothing at all between us.

- Do you have a role model within football?

I would not describe as a role model but Marcelo is a player I really like. It is no secret that I was supporting the Brazilians at the World Cup. Now that they have been knocked out, I will be supporting Croatia. . 

- What targets have you arrived to with MOL Vidi FC?

It cannot even be a question about the targets in Szekesfehervar. I feel that a player would sign with his eyes closed to join the league champions. It did not take me a minute to make up my mind when the chance came. I know that it will be hard to play my way into the side as we have one of the best left backs in the country already. It is strange to see just what a difference there is between Vasas and Vidi. A person feels like he is abroad. The facilities are perfect and the pitches in really good condition.
