The 2017-18 season ended with the final match away at DVTK. Vidi had already picked up the league title with the home win over Honved. One of the key players was defender Stopira, who made 31 league appearances over the season. He also scored important goals including the winner against Bordeaux in the Europa League and the game with Ferencvaros. 

"This is my second title win with Vidi and at the moment it feels sweeter as it is fresh. We worked really hard over the year and settled the title with a game left to play. This really does mean a lot to us. I felt from the first moment that we would end up champions. That was the case when we were second in the league. It is totally normal to have the up's and down's in the life of a team. We remained concentrated and focused and put even more work into it, which in the end meant the league title. There is not a big secret as you suffer and make sacrifices. My best moment came in the match with Bordeaux, which I feel will remain with me forever. It occurred to me where I had come from and how far I had reached. The game against Honved is another that I would pick out. The defeat a year ago was really painful but God gave us the chance to gain revenge and we managed it. With regards to the summer qualifications, we need to take it step by step. We are strong and if we can continue with this work, which led us to the title, then we can go far. The target cannot be anything other than making the group stage" - commented Stopira.
