Danko Lazovic and Mate Patkai extend contracts with Videoton

The two players have committed their futures to the club after signing new contracts.

Videoton FC are delighted to announce the contract extensions of two players. December 2017 saw Roland Juhasz, Marko Scepovic, Loic Nego and Adam Kovacsik sign new deals and now Mate Patkai and Danko Lazovic have done the same.

Mate Pakai came the club in the summer of 2015. He has gone on to play in 75 NB I games and has found the back of the net 8 times. Seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17 saw the midfielder help the team to second place finishes. He was also called up to the national team after a lengthy period.

"I am delighted that the club counts on me for the future. There is a good chance that Vidi will become the club where I spend the longest time as a player. I am not a big traveller and spent four and a half years with MTK and three and a half with Győr. The most important target is that I can celebrate my first Vidi title win. It would be good after that for the team to make it to the group stages after 2012." - commented Patkai.

Danko Lazovic arrived during the summer of 2016 and has since scored 20 goals in 45 first division matches. He was a member of last season's squad that finished in second place in the OTP league.

“I would first like to thank everyone at Vidi for the support that I have received. I feel really good, which is why I want to remain at the club longer. I would like to especially thank Zoltan Kovacs, who has put his trust in me over the last year and a half. It is a big motivation for me that I can step out on the pitch at the new stadium and naturally playing in Europe also motivates. I hope that we can do well not only in Europe, but also in Europe.” - commented Lazovic.

"Both players produced high quality performances week after week and our key players. Mate Patkai during last year and after a long time, returned to the national team and performed well. Lazovic has shown at Vidi exactly what qualities he has and that he did not come to Hungary to see out his career. I am sure that both players will continue to be really motivated in the future, and that they will do all they can for the club to be successful.” - commented Director of Football Zoltan Kovacs.
