Videoton FC ended the OTP autumn season in second place. The teams midfielder, Jozsef Varga was in a slightly bitter mood as he looked back to the first half of the season. There were nice moments also to review.

"The end to the year was ugly. I am talking about the final couple of weeks, but the summer started well. We had a good run in the Europa League and successfully negotiated the games in the league. We also had the chance to make it to the Group stage of the Europa League. However, falling at the final hurdle was a painful moment for the team. We then showed our strength as we remained top of the NBI until the very final week. Overall it was a balanced season with good performances. However, this changed in the final three matches. It is difficult to talk about it and extremely hard to get over it. We really need to give everything over the spring if we are to be happy at the end" - commented Varga.

"The high point would certainly have been making it into the group stage, but we still did well with good games. I do not want to pick one out as there were several confident wins. The low point as I have already mentioned were those last three games. Perhaps we can say that we defeated ourselves" - continued the midfielder.

"From a personal point of view, I was happy that the coaching staff showed faith in me. I feel that I managed to repay that faith. However, you will have to ask the manager about this. It is also positive that I played week after week and managed to adapt to the formation. It is always possible to play better and improve. I want to do that and give even more in the spring. I also want to score goals" - ended Jozsef.
