Hungary played their final match of 2017. The match in Budapest against Costa Rica came on the back of last week's disappointing defeat away in Luxembourg. Costa Rica have qualified for the World Cup in Russia next summer. Manager Zoltan Szelesi named three Videoton players in his starting line-up. Patkai was joined with Varga and Vinicius. Keeper Adam Kovacsik had made his international debut in last week's friendly. Jozsef Varga made a come back to the national side having last played 3 years ago in October 2014.

Sadly there was just one Videoton player still playing after 10 minutes. Both Vinicius and Patkai were forced to come off with injury. The Videoton medical staff will handle things and find out the extent of the injury. 

Hungary played well and won the friendly game with a 37th minute Nikolics goal, which was his 5th for the national team in what was his 25th appearance.
