The Haladas squad did not experience too much change during the summer transfer window. There were those that left as well as new arrivals. However, it would be an exaggeration to say that the squad underwent major changes. Former Vidi player Zsolt Gajdos is one player that left the club and signed for Nyiregyhaza. Another former player, Sandor Hidvegi also switched to Siofok. The final days of the transfer window also saw Adam Simon move to Paks. Arrivals included ex Kaposvar, Pecs and DVTK player Miroszlav Grumic and Patrik Pinte, who joined from Slovakian side Slovan. Brazilian Myke came in on loan from MTK.

Haladas kicked off the current season at the home of Champions Honved, which they lost 2-0. However, they won the next game 1-0 at home against Debrecen. No points were gained against DVTK and Paks but there was a good 3-1 win over Balmazujvaros. The Szombathely side travelled to the capital to play Ferencvaros, but suffered a 2-0 loss in a game that went according to paper form. One of the biggest shocks of the season followed when Haladas were beaten at home 5-1 by Puskas Academy.

Very few would have been shocked to find out that the result caused the change of manager and Geza Meszoly left the club. He was replaced by Illes academy director Balint Pacsi. Haladas played two friendly games during the international break. A 0-0 draw with Austrian side Wiener Neustadt was followed by a 16-0 win over local county side Hegyko.

The two sides have met many times in the first division. Vidi enjoy the better overall record with 40 wins so far. The two have shared the points in 15 games, while Haladas have won the remaining 22. The goal difference reads 133:84 in favour of the red and blues.
