Videoton are in Europa League play off action on Thursday with the first leg in Belgrade.

John Beaton was born on the 9th January 1982. He took his refereeing course at the young age of 19 and has been refereeing games in the Scottish league since 2009. He made it into the FIFA group of officials in 2012. Beaton was one of the match officials in the 2014 European Championship qualifying game between Romania and Hungary, which ended 1-1. Current Videoton players Roland Juhasz and Jozsef Varga took part in that game.
John Beaton was most recently involved in the August Champions League qualifier between Kobenhavn and Vardar, which ended in a 4-1 home win. The referee will be assisted in Thursday's game by Graham Stewart, Stuart Stevenson with fourth official being Donald Robertson.

The team will begin preparations for the return leg with a training session on Friday.

The two managers spoke to the media shortly after the final whistle on Thursday evening.


The Videoton manager faced the media in Belgrade on Wednesday ahead of the play off first leg.

It was a busy day for the Videoton squad, which flew out to Belgrade. The day included the usual press conference and a final training session.

A short flight awaits the team as they fly off to the Serbian capital on Wednesday.
