The international break is a good time to look at some numbers after 23 league games.

The international break provides a good chance to take a closer look at some of the statistics. What has happened so far in the OTP league NB1 2016/17 season.
The magical number of 23 suggests that over the last 10 years, the team leading the table after 23 games has gone on to win the league with the exception of 2!
One of the most telling stats that reveals plenty is just how balanced the current season is. Looking at the last 10 years, there have only been three seasons where a team that is top of the league has not managed to pick up 50 points after 23 games.
Season 2007/2008 saw MTK lead with 48 points after 23 games, with both Ujpest in second on 47 and Győri ETO in third with the same amount of points. Debrecen that year were in fourth place with 45 points at that stage of the campaign. MTK went on to win the league title with a two points margin over second placed Debrecen.
Debrecen led the table with 49 points after 23 matches in season 2013/2014. They also enjoyed an 8 points lead over second place ETO. The season ended with plenty of excitement with both Debrecen and ETO on 62 points and the 'Loki' lifting the league championship thanks to a better goal difference.
We take a look at the last 10 seasons in the table below. It shows the stats after 23 games as well as the eventual league winners. Videoton currently lead the 2016/17 season with 44 points. Debrecen managed 12 more at the same stage last season.

Scepovic finds the back of the opponents net after every 116 minutes. Lazovic has the most assists.
The 14 first division matches have produced 10 goals for the forward, which is by far the best statistic when you look at the goals/minutes ratio. We looked at players who have played at least 270 minutes so far. There have been 1164 minutes over the 14 league matches. Scepovic managed to hit the back of the net every 116 minutes. Daniel Prosser is in second place with his 4 goals in 507 minutes, which means an average of a goal after every 127 minutes. However, the player left Honved in the winter window and moved to the Puskas Academy. Third place sees a familiar face with Robert Feczesin scoring after every 135 minutes thanks to his 8 goals in 1078 minutes. He too has since moved to a new club in South Korea.
Experienced Serbian forward Danko Lazovic is also a constant threat. He has the most assists to his name in the league with a total of 9 so far!

Domestic unbeaten run
Although Videoton lost their first two games of the new season against DVTK and Vasas both 1-2, they have gone on to draw one and win 9 at the Pancho Arena in Felcsut. The 10 games means an unbeaten series of results dating back over 7 months. The last sic league matches have all been won with 21 goals being scored and just 2 going in at the other end.

The Videoton manager wants the team to continue the good start to the spring season.

Three Videoton players were named in the best eleven for week 22 of the season.

The original match at the Bozsik stadium in Budapest was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

The Videoton goalkeeping coach travelled to his former club in Belgium.

Saturday's opponents are battling to climb out of the relegation position.

Another important 3 points are on offer for Marko Nikolic and his team at the weekend.
