The experienced match official has been a regular referee in matches involving Videoton over the years.
Zsolt Szabo made his first division debut as a referee on the 7th September 1996. That was in a game between Vac-Pecs. He was voted official of the year in season 2001-2002. He repeated that the following season when he was chosen by the Nemzeti Sport journal. Szabo picked up the golden spectacle award, which is decided by football supporters in the same year.
Szabo has refereed three games in 2016 involving Videoton. The first was the 1-0 away win at Paks. The second was the 3-0 away win in the final game of last season at Ujpest. The last was the 2-0 home win over Mezokovesd.
He will be assisted by Georgiou Theodoros and Peter Berettyan for Saturday's game. The fourth official will be Istvan Albert.
