Dinamo Bucharest are one of the key clubs in Romania and were formed back in 1948. The first league title success arrived in 1955. That saw them make their debut in European competition a year later as the first team from Romania. Dinamo beat Galatasaray in their first match. The biggest success came in the 80s. They made it through to the European Champions Cup semi final, but Liverpool proved a tough hurdle and the English side made it through.

Dinamo have won their domestic league 18 times and also lifted the cup 13 times. The Romanian super cup has been won twice by Friday's opponents. Last season they ended in 4th place in the league and are currently sitting in 5th in the winter break. Dinamo Bucharest has an estimated squad value of 13,4 million euros. Their most valuable player is 22 year old forward Dorin Rotariu. He made his debut at the young age of 17 in the first team. He has gone on to play over 100 games in the first division.
