The building site around the stadium was handed over to the representatives of the consortium on Wednesday morning. The machines and building equipment started to arrive at the Sostoi stadium complex. Work to erect a new modern stadium has officially started.

Project manager Laszlo Horvath highlighted that the first phase - which depends also on the weather would last for around 2 months. "That would include demolition work on the existing building and the ground works for the new stands. That would be followed by the prefabricated concrete structures being put into place. Funds for the new stadium will come from the state. Building work is expected to last for 14 months and that will mean the new facility being ready during the 2017-2018 season." - commented the local Szekesfehervar council statement.
