Utoljára az előző szezon utolsó fordulójában, Újpesten találkoztunk a fővárosi sporival.
Szabó Zsolt 1996. szeptember 7-én, a Vác - Pécs mérkőzésen debütált az élvonalban. A 2001-2002-es szezonban a Borsodi Liga legjobb játékvezetőjévé választották. A 2002-2003-as bajnoki évadban a Nemzeti Sport osztályzatai alapján ismét a legjobb játékvezető lett, ugyanebben az évben az Aranyszemüveg-díjat is elnyerte.
Ebben a naptári évben két bajnokinkat vezette: Pakson 1-0-ra nyertünk, majd az előző idény zárófordulójában Újpesten is győztünk, 3-0-ra.
Szabó Zsolt segítői szombaton, a 18 órakor kezdődő mérkőzésen Tóth II Vencel és Farkas Balázs lesznek, míg a tartalék játékvezetői teendőket ezúttal Georgiou Theodoros látja el.
