We sat down to talk about the first phase of pre-season after the end of the training camp in Austria.

We sat down to talk with manager Henning Berg. The Norwegian coach has had two weeks to work with his players, together with his coaching team. We asked him about how pre-season is going after the squad returned from Austria.
– There were 10 days at the Sostoi, before a period of 9 days in Austria, as the squad prepares for the 2016/17 season ahead. What have your experiences been as manager of Vidi?
The most important part of this period was for the new coaching team to get to know the players. Naturally we had seen plenty of footage of the team before we arrived here. However, it is completely different when a person sees how players work in training. How they react to the things that we ask from them. We got to know their personalities, mentality and we can see that they also want to carry on developing. I feel that we have succeeded in this area over the first two weeks. We have managed to work out a good base for working together in the future. We all know where we want to reach, as the club has big ambitions, in terms of the league title, winning the Hungarian cup and to also do well in Europe. These are big targets, which is why we are working to make this happen.
– How big is the battle to get into the starting eleven?
There is no doubt that competition is strong. Adam Bodi and David Barczi have arrived on the wings, which gives us variations along the two sides, but we continue to find players for other positions. New arrivals can still happen. We can see the potential in the players already here. There is the chance to develop, which is why together with the other coaches, we want to help make them better players. I am satisfied with the attitude shown by the members of the squad. They have worked well in training and are open to new ideas. They understand that everything is happening to make them better players.
– Fitness coach, Liam Anderson, yourself and Kazimierz Sokolowski all sat down to talk with the players. What was the purpose of these talks?
Liam focused on the fitness and nutrition side of things when he spoke to the players. He mentioned his experiences and the regeneration areas, which he offered advice about. Kaz (Polish assistant - nickname), wanted to get to know the players better as men, and also talk about his expectations in terms of tactics. He also spoke to them about what he expects from them as players. We told all of the players about the possibilities that they have and what will be needed to bring out the maximum in their careers.
– Our first game in the Europa League will be played on the 30th June. Who would be your ideal opponent on the qualification first round stage?
It is hard for me to pick one, as there are many teams to choose from and I do not know the full details of all of our potential opponents. We will carefully look at our opponent after the draw is made on Monday 20th June. We will make sure we are fully prepared so that there will not be any surprises for us. I can say about our team that we will be prepared by then to make sure we can perform as well as we can, whoever our opponents will be in Q1.
– You have not yet met two of your players. Roland Juhasz and Adam Lang are away on international duty with Hungary at the European Championships. What did you make of Hungary's win over Austria?
Adam Lang and the whole team played well against Austria. It was a fantastic success for Hungarian football. I have experienced that actually qualifying has given the Hungarian football supporters a real boost. The win against Austria has only made this even more special. Tuesday's game was a massive experience for all of the footballers in the country and not just Adam and Roland. I will be supporting the Hungarian team as they continue in the competition, and wish them plenty of success! This does mean from the teams point of view that our two defenders will only link up with us at a later stage. However, despite the fact that we also have important European games coming up, I wish that they remain in France for as long as possible and experience further success. This is because this will only do good to the future of Hungarian football.
