Videoton could be one of the seeded teams in the first two qualifying rounds

We take a look at the possible opponents that Videoton can be drawn against on the 20th June.

Videoton FC ended the 2015-16 OTP Bank league season in second place. That earned them a place in the draw for the Europa League, which will be made in Nyon, Switzerland on the 20th June. The first leg matches are due to be played on the 30th June 2016. Vidi will go into the draw as a seeded team. The opponents for Q2 will also be known on the 20th June, in the event that Vidi negotiate their way past their first round opponents.

Vidi will await their opponents together with another 48 teams (but they will avoid being drawn against MTK Budapest). This is thanks to picking up 8,725 in the coefficients rankings. Videoton also look likely to be a seeded team if they can make it through Q1. Unfortunately this does not apply if they can reach Q3.

The possible opponents will be reduced to a group draw process in the hours leading up to the UEFA draw. There will several small groups made up of 5 seeded and 5 unseeded teams. That will mean that Videoton will know their possible opponents from a possible 5 teams.

Opponents:

With regards to concrete team names, only two possible opponents are not yet known, but it looks likely that they could be Slavia Sofia and Moldovian team Zaria, while Kazak team Ordabasi have 3,575 points.

The worst possible scenario would see Vidi get Kazak team Ordabasi Simkentet, who went out last year to Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem after a 0-0 draw and 2-1 defeat. There will also be teams from Gibraltar, San Marino and Andorra in the draw, which would count as fortunate opponents in a draw.

Debrecen have also qualified to the Europa League, as well as MTK. They will also go into Q1 as a seeded team.

The first leg will be played on the 30th June, with the return leg on the 7th July.
